Regina Stones Shows Set New Canadian Benchmark
January 19, 2007
Yes, the arrival of the Rolling Stones and their Bigger Bang tour to Regina last fall was a big deal. On Friday, we found out just how big.
The two concerts in October were the top grossing concerts of all time in Canada. In a news release from IPSCO Place, the two shows at Mosaic Stadium raked in $12,011,124 -- this is according to the music industry trade magazine, Pollstar. A total of 80,583 people attended the concerts.
What's more, the magazine says the two Regina shows are the only Canadian events to make the top-40 North American grossing concerts of all time.
