What? How about on a CD. You know those old-fashioned round silver things. Can you send me a copy? |

actually, if he is pulling it from winmx, the source is likely mp3, in which case we wouldnt want to make CDs from the lossy compression. hopefully the lossless source will surface someday - i certainly do not have enough sources from 1970 in my collection

hi ,you can make the sound better ,packing up from mp 3 to wave..and boost some treble,,the sounds on many 60,s and early 70's it doesent matter if it on mp 3 or wave the sounds is the same,,thre is not high treble, only noise.so compressed take away the noise.. rocky |

no - that is how LOSSY compression is defined - parts of the waveform are removed to make the file smaller. once it is removed, it cannot be replaced. that is why you shouldnt make cds from m3s and then trade them...
lossless compression (shn/flac) uses a differen algorithm to store the waveform in a smaller file, but lossless means nothing is lost, and that the waveform is the exact same. that is why lossless compression is acceptable for trading, and lossy compression (mp3, ogg) is not... |

Hi JJ . . . Things are OK down here. We're cleaning up, bringing in supplies to get the kids back to school, issuing loans to have new houses and fishng boats built, etc. This place will be all right.
