Topic: What song you'd like Stones cover? Return to archive Page: 1 2
January 17th, 2006 08:27 AM
Jair David Bowie Heroes would be great sung by Mick Jagger...

January 17th, 2006 08:50 AM
M.O.W.A.T. I think that Rebel Rebel would be the Bowie song that the Stones could pull off easily (much more in their style musically).
January 17th, 2006 08:50 AM
speedfreakjive With Or Without You, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
January 17th, 2006 09:56 AM
Madafaka Some Marley's reggae could be great.
BTW, Rebel Rebel is totally a "stone" tune!
January 17th, 2006 11:16 AM
Jair Yes, you right, Rebel Rebel is totally Stones, so It could be too easy.

I'd like to see Mick sing screaming like Bowie on Heroes...
January 17th, 2006 11:28 AM
Zanck*Zanck*Zanck My choice would be 'Rip this Joint'!

Hear Mick announce.."And now we'd like to perform a song by a band called The Rolling Stones ..'Rip this joint' "

Sir Stonesalot I would like them to cover, on this tour, and on the next album...or as a single release...

"Molly Ringwald Trapped In Flypaper" or "King of the Vomitorium"

Since I wrote those songs, they can make all checks payable to me.

In fact, they should just do an entire album of all SS covers. I think they could do a nice job on "Skeleton Girl" and "Mormon Pictures of Death". I think KOTV would be a smash hit.

.....I've got a great Alice Cooper ripoff on demo from my misspent youth called 'DIGGIN FOR CAROLINE'- Caroline had recently departed when I wrote this little ditty. I may follow your lead Sir Stones and post to Sir Mick post-haste.

Sir Stonesalot Oh oh oh, I know I know I know!!!

That song with the birds chirping, and that girl with the I-just-woke-up voice that goes:

Luuuuuuuving yuuuuuuuuuu
is eazeee cuzzz your beautifuuu-uuull

Ans then there is that part where she does that high pitched squeal thats all like...aaahhhhhhh ahhh ahhh ah ah ahhhhhhh.

Yeah. I wanna hear them fuckers try THAT! And I want it FRIDAY NIGHT!

Then I don't wanna be riii-iight...

Daethgod i reckon Sheryl Crowe, If It Makes You Happy would rock

its already got a Stonesy swagger to it ...

"Well, o.k. I still get stoned
I'm not the kind of girl you'd take home

If it makes you happy
It can't be that bad
If it makes you happy
Then why the hell are you so sad"

and Mick in a poncho in the clip !

"We've been far, far away from here
Put on a poncho, played for mosquitos
And everywhere in between
Well, o.k. we get along
So what if right now everything's wrong?
"

That's sung by Minnie Ripperton the song you're quoting. But you forgot the best part, which is the chorus that goes "La la la la la . . . la la la la la . . . la la la la la laa loh loh la la . . . do dooden dooden doo doo" which goes into the high pitched squeal you quote.

Stevie Wonder wrote the tune. And since the Stones covered Uptight back in 72, why not this? I feel it in the air! Can't wait for the boot.
