01-11-04 12:27 PM
Monkey Woman Go to http://www.seawayvalley.com/index.php?t=12610&lang=2&p=927 to vote for the best rock'n'roll drummer. Let's keep Charlie in #1 position!
01-11-04 01:04 PM
VoodooChileInWOnderl Thanks for the link I voted Charlie just to see he has 67% of the votes while Mitch Mitchell 0%, not a single vote, I know he does not give a fuck, after all he played with three of Jimi Hendrix' bands
01-11-04 03:00 PM
J.J.Flash Sure they will vote for monsters like Bonzo, Neil Peart, but we can't forget Ginger Baker, oh please... not to mention Keith Moon, Mitch Mitchell, Ian Paice and of course Charlie Watts!

"Don't ever call me your fuckin' drummer, 'cause you're my fuckin' singer...."

My favorites maybe are Charlie, Ginger Baker, Ian Paice, Keith Moon, Mitch Mitchell.....
01-11-04 03:39 PM
egon done!
01-11-04 03:42 PM
caro Is it uncool not to know Phil Collins was a drummer?
01-11-04 04:31 PM
egon caro,

phil is huge in france, how can you not know he's a drummer?
01-11-04 04:42 PM
caro Stop saying things about France.

By the way, Johnny Halliday is huge in France too, and I didn't know he was a drummer either.
01-11-04 05:02 PM
egon me neither!

but why can't i talk about france?
01-11-04 05:07 PM
caro Well, you obviously don't have the necessary knowledge. For example, you believe me when I say Johnny plays drums!
01-11-04 05:09 PM
egon well of course, he is a very talented guy.
possibly a bigger star than mick
01-11-04 05:27 PM
Monkey Woman Argh! I'll kill you for that, egon! I swear I will!

But Marseille is not really in France, is it? It's OM-land!!! ROTFLMAO
01-11-04 05:30 PM
egon obviously i was joking.
i still do not get what the french see in johhny.

as a singer that is, because as much i hate to admit, he's quite a good actor. and that is not a joke.

marseille seems to be a french island.

>>Good point. He's much more interesting as an actor than a singer.

marseille seems to be a french island.
>>LOL! I once lived in Marseille, stayed there about a year. Pretty crazy city, but cool.

<--------- Who else?

01-11-04 08:32 PM
scratched Charlie, Charlie
He's our man
If he can't do it,
NO-ONE CAN!!!
01-12-04 06:21 PM
Ten Thousand Motels In the end after reading that list I did end up voting for Charlie. Drummers names have a tendency to be forgotton. That is if you can even remember what they played on. That guy that played on Band Of Gypsys was ok. Buddy Miles. I remember his name. But the glaring ommision was the AC/DC drummer...Simon Wright....whoever the fuck he is. AC/DC does not hire bad drummers.
01-12-04 06:24 PM
Ten Thousand Motels btw. That poll is a landslide. Is it rigged?

I think the 'Rocks Off Charlie Watts Is The Greatest Ever Drummer Who Ever Lived Ever Campaign' could be classed as a rig. Saying that, I voted for Charlie cos I prefer his playing to the other drummers.
01-12-04 08:34 PM
TracyGene It is still a landslide,Charlie by 79% and 166 votes!
01-12-04 09:38 PM
M.O.W.A.T. You could say it was rigged. I originally posted the link at Shidoobee and it just sort of snowballed from there.

ROCK 101.9 is my hometown's radio station and I've been listening to it to see if they mention anything about Charlie taking a huge lead in their poll. So far, nothing yet.
01-12-04 09:47 PM
stonedatbirth666 Thank God for Charlie! The Greatest drummer in the world. Peace
