Perhaps it's a little too late to moan, but as good a compilation Rarities is, wouldn’t it of been so much better if the Stones had just released a straight forward b-sides compilation? A collection of all they're post 1971 flip sides would have been so much better.
Anyone agree? |

We are collectors of all things Stones, so we would buy anything along those lines.
I think you've got to think like the label, who wants to sell to the masses, thus the reason included would need to be mega hits. |

A fair point. However, and it's just my opinion, but I think a b-sides collection would've sold just as well as Rarities... if not better. At least you'd know what you were getting. The whole "Rarities" tag is misleading. Not just because many of the tracks are indeed not particularly rare, but when your average fan looks at the back of the CD and clocks Wild Horses on there, he's going to be a little miffed. No, a b-sides collection would've been a far better idea. |
