FPM C10 This is howe dumb I am - I didn't know Nick Cave was from Oz.

That's the place with all the Munchkins, right?

Hey, you working tonight? We might make the scene at Butterbean's.

January 13th, 2006 03:05 PM
Dan Beasts Of Bourbon
AC/DC
Rose Tattoo (I think)
January 13th, 2006 03:07 PM
Candace Youngblood Wow, babe. That pic really shows off his amazing mammaries...err I mean pecs... That's where the Butterbean resemblance ends.
January 13th, 2006 03:08 PM
speedfreakjive Silverchair - they were shite
January 13th, 2006 03:12 PM
Candace Youngblood SS forgot to mention his favorite...

Olivia Newton John

oh wait, she's not a band.
January 13th, 2006 03:21 PM
Sir Stonesalot Sorry to say that I'll be missing Butterbean's massive manboobies tonight. Ya know, he really looks more like Frank Black than anyone.

I must don my cape and save the world this evening.
January 13th, 2006 03:22 PM
Factory Girl The Datsuns (are from OZ or NZ?)

The Bee Gees (I think they're great).

FPM C10 My friend Danny, a transplant to Oz, told me that he's been getting into Aborigine C&W. Seriously! He's going to send me some. He said it's like 1940's - 1950s American C&W, but obviously with a unique twist.

Sir Stonesalot Back in the day, I woulda been all over Olivia Newton John.

Now....not so much so.

I'm not raving wild about Jet. They are OK. They don't suck. I saw them with Kings of Leon and the 22-20's...and they were the third best band that night for sure.

January 13th, 2006 04:36 PM
Sir Stonesalot I wasn't crazy about the headband, but the thought of those leg warmers rubbing on my back drove me nuts!

just started to listen to 22/20s. Good rootsy sound. They opened some gigs for The Black Crowes.

Kings of Leon are the shit. Fucking love them.

the Jet record is overproduced. But ck out the live DVD. Gritty, sweaty and very juiced up and sloppy.

I thought the BLack Crowes were doing the opening band thing this year...other than NYE and some state fairs...are they doing a headlining tour....will they be back to chicago or was the House of BLues club their only stop?
January 13th, 2006 05:05 PM
Saint Sway Pug,

get yer shit straight.

Crowes co-headlined a string of dates this summer for Tom Petty. They headlined the rest of the year. Including an impressive 8 night sold out run at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NY. A 4 night run in Atlanta & LA and 5 sold out, magical nights at The Fillmore.

they played back to back nights in chicago on Halloween at the Rivieara Theatre, while you were busy playing dress up with your pugs. Fantastic show. They came out as "AC/BC" dressed in Angus Young costumes and slammed a bunch of AC/DC tunes. Walked off. Came back and played a 3 hour Black Crowes set.

put that in your pipe and smoke it!
January 13th, 2006 05:09 PM
glencar BORING!
January 13th, 2006 05:15 PM
Sir Stonesalot I have it on good authority that the Black Crowes are NOT a fine band from Oz.

>But ck out the live DVD. Gritty, sweaty and very juiced up and sloppy.<

Yeah, I have that. Like I said...it's OK.
