Keith Richards has written an exclusive Foreword for this very special issue of Q saying, "You don't write songs. As far as I'm concerned, you receive them. They can come out of nowhere." For someone whose songs apparently come out of nowhere, The Rolling Stones haven't done too badly, filling two of the Top 100 spots with 1968's Sympathy For The Devil at no. 61 and 1965's (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction at no. 29.
He goes on to discuss the songs that changed his world. "The songs that changed everything for me would be Elvis's Heartbreak Hotel and Little Richard's Long Tall Sally. From that moment on, everything was different. And remember, a good song will last forever."
