I'm going for 6k by Valentine's Day.

I will now give you the best lyrics ever written...from the movie "Breakin'"...

BREAKIN' ... THERE'S NO STOPPING US
(Ollie Brown / Tony Santos)
Ollie & Tony - 1984

{Do it}
{Hold on}

Out in the street
You don't survive by being weak
This is our time
Walls were made for us to climb

Don't you try to lock us out
Cause we're breakin' down the doors
And all we're prepared to fight
Yeah, yeah

There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
No one does it better {No one does it better}
There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
Really doesn't matter

Na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na

Long overdue
No playin' game or being used
Something to prove
It's more than just a dream come true

We have waited far too long
For this moment to arrive
Hey, hey

There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
No one does it better {No one does it better}
There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
Really doesn't matter (We're on the move)

There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
No one does it better (No one does it better than me and you)
There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
Really doesn't matter

{Do it}
{Do it}
{Do it}
{Breakdance}
{Do it}
{Can you breakdance}

We have waited for too long
For this moment to arrive
Hey, hey

There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
No one does it better
There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
Really doesn't matter

There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
No one does it better

Na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na

There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
No one does it better (No...one)
There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
Really doesn't matter (We're on the move)

There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
No one does it better {Do it}
There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
Really doesn't matter {Do it}

{No stoppin'}
{No stoppin'}

There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
No one does it better {Do it}
There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
Really doesn't matter {Do it}

There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
No one does it better (No one does it better)
There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
Really doesn't matter

There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
No one does it better

There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
No one does it better {Do it} (We're gonna survive)
There's no stoppin' us {No stoppin'}
Really doesn't matter

There's no stoppin' us....(fade to Steelie)

" I'm going for 6k by Valentine's Day. "

Gypsy .....................

" I feel so badly Darlin' all the time
I have tortured you so long
But I am helpless in this pantomime
I am aware that I was wrong

For though you knew that I was twice your age
To make you laugh seemed youth enough
I thought we'd love and then and then you'd turn the page
I'd have to suffer your rebuff

And it was me who had the most to gain
Despite the fact that I now have lost
The only love that ever caused me pain
I feel like a double head was tossed

Now and then you see a soul and you fall in love
And you can't do a thing about it

Now and then you see a soul and you fall in love
And you can't do a thing about it

Now and then you see a soul and you fall in love
And you can't do a thing about it.......( fade to Steelie )"

Dan "Means Of Ascent" by Robert Caro. 2nd volume in his acclaimed Lyndon Johnson series covering the time immedietly following his ill-fated 1941 Senate run until his 1948 "landslide" victory in his 2nd attempt to gain the seat.

Excellent book!! Like a primer on how to be a crook!
Especially the story on the 1948 election!!
'Master Of The Senate' was OK, but not up to the standards of Caro's first 2 LBJ books.

Finished " Master of the Senate " about eighteen months ago ( best book that I have EVER read --- Yes , even better than " Truman " )

Monkey Woman Just finished Bellwether by Connie Willis. You didn't know that chaos theory, fads in fashion and falling in love all have something in common and so does the nature of scientific discovery... All that in a novel under 300 pages, I'm not kidding! It's a great read. Humour, suspense and thought-provoking insights into what makes humanity tick. I don't understand why Willis isn't more famous than Michael Crichton. It must be something about herd-behaviour...

I dunno..........'MOTS' just didn't hook me in like the first 2 Caro books. It had its moments.
We'll probably have to wait another 10 years for his next LBJ book-that really sucks!

Mr Hess I just started 'American Brutus: John Wilkes Booth And The Lincoln Conspiracies' by Michael Kauffman.
January 15th, 2005 03:20 PM
Dan I can imagine Master Of The Senate not being quite as engrossing about the first book, only because so much has already been written about his Senate career just like the book on his Presidency would be even less interesting for the same reason.
