Don't Stop
Torn and Frayed
Winter

We can dream can't we? I am hoping that tonights show is our chance to see some experimentation in the set list. The HBO show will be for the masses. Tonight should be for the hard-core fans. Give us some of the nuggets that were done at some of the theater venues that most of us couldn't get in to. |
|
winter |
yes, we can dream - but I am hopeful that they will give us one special nugget for show though
Past experience says yes-
BTB Video - Memory Motel (ruined by Dave Matthews)
VL - Miami - Dead Flowers (and I think Stop Breaking Down with Robert Cray)
Steel Wheels - Salt of the Earth with Axl Rose
A complete cruise control set would be a bit of a bummer given our collective anticipations.

Harlem Shuffle gets the nod, one of these shows, as they rehearsed it in Montreal, probably replacing the r & b cuts (Can't Turn you Loose, Love Train) that they've been doing..

winter |
Nellcote:
Are you trying to spoil my NYC trip -
wintah |
|
Nellcote |
Spoil what....It's a wicked pissa cut, straight out of '63, Bob & Earl, if I'm correct. Plus it gives Dirty Work the nod....something that's not been done for yeahs... |
|
winter |
Nellcote:
And I thought we were friends. Next you're gonna tell me Dave Matthews will join them for that tune. Oh,I think I've just broken out in a rash -

Get A Grip Man.
Allright, showtime....
MISS YOU, for the 12million time or....
HARLEM SHUFFLE..
See, you can't resist, right?
BTW, my contact from MSG called, he needs a head count. |

" Torn and Frayed
Winter
Angie
Gimmie Shelter
Crazy Mama "
Winter , you make Joey giddy ! |
|
winter |
Nellcote:
Miss You or Harlem Shuffle? I will take Dance Pt. 1, Slave, Fingerprint File or Emotional Rescue for a funky tune - I know I'm dreaming - but I was scarred in the mid '80s by images of dancing cartoon cats.
As for the head count - looks like its 1 - I guess quality time with JB isn't as big of a draw as we originally anticipated. Be sure to tell the execs at HBO that the show can begin at 9 pm as scheduled.
Ya mooooooooooooooooooooooove it to the left,

Bring 12 X 5 down to meet him, that will go ova good..
Yeah, Dance Pt1 would be good, howeva, does my suggestion still have a NYC theme?
See, that's the ticket...

I don't have a floor ticket, but if I can get down there tonight, I'm gonna try to find him. Section 3, row N, he said, but no seat number |

Nellcote:
How's this for a New York theme:
Mick: "Hey man, what am I doing standing on the corner of West __ and 6th? Avenue"
Keith: "Are you lost?"
Mick: "Keith, whatcha, watcha doin"
My apologies to all for butchering the exact words, but you get the point.
Joey:
To hear Keith mutter "stick my tongue in someone else's pie" - that my friend, would be worth the price of admission-

jb should be EASY to find in that crowd...tell him I said 'hi', LOL.
Have a GREAT time tonight! |

Nellcote |
Scope, yes! We'd all like to know if he has contacted Cohl yet, to express his dissatisfaction on how Cohl is handling the tour. I'm sure he's has time while in NYC.
Have a great time at the show yourself! |

Does he mean Pie Mckenzie, Bruins Star? |

nankerphelge |
Oh yeah! Under the Stonesian calendar -- a lesser known calendar used in certain circles -- it is indeed the Year of the Pie.
Yes indeed -- I have the page-a-day version.
Today's saying:
Shave it
Squirt it
Just don't hurt it!

That's it. Day is over. I am outta here and on my way to Walter's. I'll let JB know you were all asking for him. Look for some thoughts/reviews tomorrow sometime.

Wasn't it Al Stewart who sang " Year of the Pie " ????? |
|
Nasty Habits |
I thought Al Stewart sang "Pie in a Bottle".
|
|
Nellcote |
OK Wintah.....
You don't care for Harlem Shuffle....
Well, how about Star, Star....NY Theme there fer sure... |

no. It was Luther VanDamm |

Personally, I still hold true that I firmly believe taht the
Stones should encore with:
1) Midnight Rambler
and
2) You Cant Always Get...
It just seems so bloody obvious to me. Are these two songs
not (some of) the best representative songs in their
repetoire? Sure, they could encore with CYHMK, but.. that
would be just over the top.
Anyways.. I liked your proposed setlist! Cheers.

Harlem Shuffle would have been awesome. Alas, there was no funky number at all.
BTW In the St. Louis PPV, Dave MAtthews sang along on "Wild Horsies". It was in Amsterdammit that he ruined MM.
