Topic: Songs they NEED to play Saturday Return to archive Page: 1 2
01-15-03 07:27 PM
Mr T face it - Heartbreaker, Bitch, Monkey Man - we're all LONG OVERDUE for seeing these songs on TV/DVD & it seems very likely we'll see some of them on HBO. These haven't been rarities in the last couple tours either. I'd imagine they'll do Angie (alternating from Wild Horses from B2B. Hopefully this will be a very diffferent setlist from past broadcasts. Keith will probably do Before They Make Me Run. Shattered, Undercover, When The Whip Comes Down, Love Train OR I Can't Turn You Loose, Beast Of Burden - I wouldn't be surprised to hear any of these
01-15-03 10:22 PM
100 Years Ago GOMPER, because it's the most obscure Stone's song ever (released material wise), please name me one song that tops it for obscurity in Stones officially released canon
01-16-03 01:00 AM
Roland They NEED to play "Loving Cup"! I'm not asking for "Sway", something I'd love to hear maybe as much, but since they've actually done "LC" on this tour maybe there's a realistic chance?
01-16-03 02:55 AM
Highwire Rob
01-16-03 04:13 AM
Zack They played both Heartbreaker and Monkey Man on the 1994 PPV from Miami. I'm all for Loving Cup, and I'll add Heart of Stone and Hand of Fate to the bag -- ones they've polished up enough to make work in front of the cameras.

01-16-03 05:15 AM
beer Hand Of Fate is a really cool song, lets hope it's played on the PPV.....
01-16-03 05:49 AM
sonicrock have you seen you mother will be great and of course................sway
01-16-03 08:14 AM
TT They MUST play CYHMK!!!

Blow the TV viewers away, boys!

(And we get an exc. sb recording then, hehe)
01-16-03 08:50 AM
Moonisup haha indeed an ex. soundboard!!

That is why I want CYHMK and hand of fate

and open with SFM and lose LARS
01-16-03 10:22 AM
JaggaRichards Stray Cat Blues and Parachute Woman
please?
01-16-03 10:23 AM
nankerphelge Parachute Woman on the B stage would be something!
01-16-03 10:53 AM
voodoopug for my own satisfaction of owning soundboard versions of these songs, I hope they do(only picking realistic songs of course):

CYHMK (need a better SB than the Palais)
If You cant rock me (almost positive we will hear this one)
Dont Stop(Guarateed to hear)
Loving Cup (outside chance since exile was the last msg set)
Bitch (Maybe??)
She Smiled Sweetly (Long Shot)
Dance Pt 1 (Very long shot, but still a chance)
Love Train ( I just dig this tune)
JJF (it just aint a stones show without it!!)
01-16-03 10:54 AM
David If they play CYHMK they ought to consider a tad bit more distortion. Yes, we're all very impressed that woodie can play it clean but I like a little edge on it as on SF.

Thanks and Have a nice day.

100 Years Ago think they'll do a SG mini-set at MSG

Miss You
Shattered
Whip
Beast of Burden

01-16-03 11:42 AM
winter Unfortunately none of this will happen, but:

Dance Pt 1 - to open
Torn and Frayed
Dear Doctor - B Stage
Winter

This we be the show of all shows, even if the other 18 songs are just repitions of the harlem shuffle with custom dancing cats on stage.

T&A Tonight we'll find out if Fleet's drop of CYHMK was an aberration or a "permanent" thing. If they don't do this in front of the camera's Saturday, I will be very upset. Aside from that it will be a cool thing to have a broadcast of IYCRM...and let's hope for b-stage Stray Cat and hopefully Heart of Stone somewhere along the way. Don't expect any first-timers - I don't think Mick wants to take any undo chances on HBO, to tell you the truth.
01-16-03 12:00 PM
100 Years Ago any word on special guest rumors for Saturday night?
01-16-03 01:05 PM
Stones They need to play some newer songs - and i hope they do. Some stuff off of their releases after 1981 would be nice.

I want to hear Don't Stop and Stealing My Heart but will probably only get Don't Stop
01-16-03 01:09 PM
snorkelpimp there is a feature on the official site that has the guy who is directing the hbo special logging a journal. It sounds as though he is trying to influence the set list and said he talked to chuck levell about it and they agreed the setlist for the pittsburgh show is what would work best. The show is going to kick ass either way, i just hope they exchange some of the songs in that set with some stuff we haven't heard this tour.

01-16-03 01:28 PM
parmeda snorkelpimp!

Welcome...and damn glad to meet ya. Have you met Sir Stonesalot yet? He's gonna LOVE your ID name, LOL...
