It's the "leadership" of certain groups. Most animal rights people are actually pretty sane. These types of tactics are always counterproductive. I used to subscribe to PETA's literature years ago. I stopped as I couldn't handle it emotionally.

Thats because the rabid animal liberationists cannot communicate with people. They vent their feelings and frustrations with being losers onto others. They have nothing in their lives. Same with Neo Nazis and people who join gangs.

It makes them feel important. Makes them feel accepted. Gives them a purpose. Same with any radical, from Abbie Hoffman to Greenpeace, to Animal Lib.

Same thing (i call it failing to deal with reality, or if you will, insanity) you see when frumpy middle aged women get divorced, and suddenly, they have 15 stray dogs living with them. Animals dont hurt you. Animals dont leave you for some one younger.

Whats the difference with a Eskimo eating whale or the Japs doing the same thing? Norway is itching to kill a some whales too, but no one bags them because they are all blonde and used to make good porn. No, its always the Japs who are the fall guys.

Dirty Aussie bombing Japs!

absolutely correct and that's the sad fact.
no one, except maybe a serial killer, wants to see an animal mistreated but somewhere along the line - the exremists have lost thier sense of reason - they scream about compassion .....
i know a woman who worships her pets but is very aloof with children and that's not rational OR compassionate.

which is what is known as "choosing your battles". not everybody cares about the same things, especially caring with a passion. there are lots of people who go to orphanages in romania and adopt kids or take in homeless people or save the trees or revamp old cars or trains or whatever. it's their passion. it doesn't have to be YOUR passion, and you don't have to think it's reasonable. you choose what is important to you and you fight for those causes or whatever. animal people fight for animals. and surprisingly, often they have other passions or interests, too. just like anybody else.

not everybody is a stones freak. most "sane" people don't spend thousands of dollars on tickets or travel across the planet to see a rock and roll band. there are "extremists" who do, though.

Well its obvious that some of these fine folks have given up on rational discourse. They need to make points by hurting people. All fascists are like that. You can't even have a rational discourse with some of these creepy fucks. I can't blame Jade for copping an attitude. Who knows what "not so idle" threats they've made. They may have a worthy cause but they're not nice people.

Ten Thousand Motels I doubt even the animals who they claim to be protecting would have anything to do with them. Giving animals a bad name and all.

well, god knows i have my own "irrational" passions -
but when people inflict thier irrationalities on others ...through enfantile, terrorist tactics against those who don't share those "passions" - where is the line of tolerance drawn?
the anti-fur brigade is not unlike the anit-abortionists in this respect...
extremist behavior always distorts the objectives.

Ten Thousand Motels Pamela Anderson takes on Colonel Sanders

TV star leads campaign to remove a bust of 'cruel' KFC founder from Kentucky state capitol.

NEW YORK (CNN) - Television star Pamela Anderson is leading a campaign to have the bust of Kentucky Fried Chicken founder Harland Sanders removed from the Kentucky state capitol.

In a letter to Gov. Ernie Fletcher, the former Baywatch star says suppliers for the fast food chain, now called KFC, engage in cruel and unusual treatment of chickens, including tearing the heads off of live birds, spitting tobacco into their eyes and spray-painting their faces.

Anderson wrote the letter with the help of People for the Ethical Treatment of animals. In a statement issued by PETA, Anderson said, "The bust of Colonel Sanders stands as a monument to cruelty and has no place in the Kentucky state capitol."

Brett Halle, communications director for the governor, told CNN, "We understand that people have a passion for their causes, but Harland Sanders is a beloved man, and as far as this state is concerned, he exemplifies the best of Kentucky. The governor has no intention of moving his statue. If we were going to move it, it would be to a more prominent position where more people could see it."

A spokeswoman for KFC told CNN that the letter is "just another misguided publicity stunt by PETA in their attempt to create a vegan society."

sounds like a bunch of serial killers.....
how credible is PETA in thier literature? because this sounds to absurd to believe.
reminds me of an old saturday night live mock fried chicken commercial.....
