Ten Thousand Motels JAGGER'S DAUGHTER TAUNTS ANIMAL ACTIVISTS

SIR MICK JAGGER's socialite daughter JADE JAGGER has taunted animal cruelty protestors by vowing to buy a $6,300 (GBP3,500) fur coat.

Jade, who works as creative director at British jewellers Garrard, has fallen in love with a white mink coat from Lanvin and remains unmoved by the concern of animal activists, such as People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA).

Jade says, "I have no fear of paintball shooters. I've been trying to get their attention for years. Come and get me."

I think she would have gotten anyone's attention a lot sooner if she'd taken off some clothes. And by that she would have served 2 higher purposes.

and all those rabbit coats my sisters wore...lol.
can you imagine the animal rights terrorists reigning supreme in the 60s, 70s?
oh my - rock and roll wouldn't have been the same.
January 13th, 2006 04:51 PM
glencar I don't like the wearing of animals & I'd rather people didn't do so but I don't think others should throw paint on anyone's clothes except their own. Grow up already!

boy, you should see her snap those chicken necks:
1,2 and poof - caldo!
what the difference from eating an animal and wearing an animal? the native americans would've had a field day with PETA..

no differnce in my book.

but just for the sake of argument, indians (native americans, if you will) didn't kill animals for fun. they killed them for food and clothing, they used all the animal. it wasn't for vanity or fashion...or for kicks.
January 14th, 2006 12:19 AM
GhostofBrianJones Fake fur is often much prettier and easier to take care of than real
fur. Cost less and who knows the difference? I don't wear animal
furs either. Agree about the Native Americans statement. I was
married to a hunter/fisherman and he used what he caught to
help feed his family and share with their friends.

true, and that's the standard rationale....
but im not starving or impoverished and i still eat meat (and mexicans eat all kinds of things), wear leather and my dad loves his snakeskin boots;
as for the native americans - it became a ritualistic, almost ceremonial event....
besides, isn't paintballing or whatever they do - just desecrating the animal further?
the argument is a fine line and the anti-fur factions piss me off with thier sanctimonious terrorism.

I agree, grow up & get a gun.

Flairville You shouldn't really provoke animal rights activists. One extreme case last year involved a man who owned a Guinea Pig farm and they were bred to be experimented on. He kept getting warning letters that something bad would happen if he carried on. When his Mum died they dug up her body and started sending bits of her back to him. Grim.
January 14th, 2006 09:01 AM
corgi37 Thats because the rabid animal liberationists cannot communicate with people. They vent their feelings and frustrations with being losers onto others. They have nothing in their lives. Same with Neo Nazis and people who join gangs.

It makes them feel important. Makes them feel accepted. Gives them a purpose. Same with any radical, from Abbie Hoffman to Greenpeace, to Animal Lib.

Same thing (i call it failing to deal with reality, or if you will, insanity) you see when frumpy middle aged women get divorced, and suddenly, they have 15 stray dogs living with them. Animals dont hurt you. Animals dont leave you for some one younger.

Whats the difference with a Eskimo eating whale or the Japs doing the same thing? Norway is itching to kill a some whales too, but no one bags them because they are all blonde and used to make good porn. No, its always the Japs who are the fall guys.

Dirty Aussie bombing Japs!
January 14th, 2006 09:02 AM
speedfreakjive How can anyone really justify these things?

fine if the animal is used for food as well, i.e, leather, but no on fur, or animal testing.
January 14th, 2006 12:41 PM
oldkr its a domesticated animal bred for that purpose, if its cruel to wear a fur coat or eat meat its just a cruel to keep a pet-- get over it
