People keep talking about Michael and Jake Cohl
I know they run the show but what is the deal with Jake?
What does he do? Is Michael trying to bring a youunger feel to the tour?
Is young Jake a partier? Girls everywhere?
What about the RS entourage? Are they partiers?
Would like to have a better feel for what goes on off stage.

not asking for intimate details
just general knowledge stuff
what they get up to
been on a tour before with another band and was pretty unbelieveable what went on. not talking drugs or drinking...other such things
wondering if the stones are the same |

Michael Cohl took over for the late Bill Grahmam starting in 1989 as the Stone tour promoter "jack of all trades" and has simply made thme over 1 billion dollars since that time. His son Jake, has followd in his foot steps and is actively involved in the Stones management team.
But for Michael Cohl( a brilliant, kind, Canadian Jew), the Stones would have hung it up a long time ago. The guy , miraculously, keeps them going with hige financial guarantees and is able to still fill up or come close thereto most venues despite fans bitching about higher and higher ticket prices. They are an amazing family and should be thanked by all true fans ....NO Cohl=NO Stones...........Thanks Michael and thanks Jake....in particular, thanks for the great rs.com site, which offers great travel packages, tickets, unique and exclusive merchandise, back-stage video, etc, all for a very low price. Yes, we all owe the Cohls our sincere gratitude and blesings. Like Pug and I, they have made many dreams come true. |

I have met Michael in a Hotel lobby and he was pleasent enough............I saw Jake, but he looked busy(papering the house) so I stayed away. I have met Blondie Chapman!!!!!!!!!!!

back-up singer/guitarist.tamberine player , etc for Stones..formerly of Beach Boys.
Oh, and it's Chaplin...................

he also plays that stick & cheese grater thing, the tom-tom and is employed to roll joints for Keith.
he knows how to play many instruments, but I've yet to see him show that he knows how to hold his liquor

I attempted to "expand" on the "stub" with more information as directed. I wanted to add that Blondie has been known to get so drunk at our local pub that he needs to hail a cab to get home to his apartment that is 1/2 a block away (5 doors). But none of the links worked. |

I week until the show and the papering has already begun.

i understand not wanting to play to an empty crowd
i agree with you about them owing more than making
maybe this tour was too enthusiastic in terms of the numbers they are expecting
is greed getting the better of them
i have received free tickets as well
didn't realize the band does this to make sure the house is full
young jake is obviously being primed for management
is he a good guy? interested in who could be taking over
how is it that no one knows more about anyone on the business end except for cohl sr.

Then he left cuz he met a young and brilliant musician called Matt Clifford.

Matt Clifford met Mick Jagger in the mid 80s in a French bath house.
He currently lives in a "guest" room in Mick's spacious English mansion.
He tours with the band, even though he no longer performs live with the band. He is constant companion of Mick's and is always at his side.
not that theres anything wrong with that. |
