speedfreakjive Although they didn't weave, I'd say 72, cos Mick T n Keef complemented eachother in an opposites attracts way I think......

indeed!

padre Finally got a good copy of Brussels (Thanks Fotini!) and after listening that I'd have to say 1973. I think MT was more a band player then than 69-72. It was not constant soloing anymore, he actually sounded like a part of the band.

speedfreakjive If you want as near as perfect modern example of ronnie and keefs 'weavin' , check out Stray Cat Blues on 4 Flicks; there's a few mistakes, but otherwise great

speedfreakjive Since you're a bassist, would you say Love IN Vain on Ladies & Gents is one of Bill's finest moments?

oh yes.
Love in Vain is my fav Stones blues and Bill playing on this one is priceless, in 72 or 78 .I d like to know, in a technical point, how to play like him and will probably post a thread to have tips about that...
January 11th, 2006 03:09 AM
speedfreakjive yes, in Bye Bye Johnnny, he does this descending thing, which looks cool. Is Love In Vain on handsome girls?

I can play all Keith's bits, but Taylor's riffing in the verses are beyond me.
January 11th, 2006 03:24 AM
Altamont That's what I mean. Too many times Mick Taylor is only remembered for his leads, but watch the videos of Shake your hips, Bitch, bye bye johnny; He is a well rounded player.

speedfreakjive No doubt. He also does rhythm on Tumbling Dice, I think. he can be excessive though

some of them, the easiest of course
