Roger Daltrey Says Gary Glitter Needs Help

The Who singer Roger Daltrey says disgraced rock star Gary Glitter needs help not condemnation.
Glitter, 61, was last week charged with committing obscene acts with two girls aged 10 and 11. Six years ago he was convicted in Britain of possessing child pornography.
Daltrey, whose bandmate Pete Townshend was arrested for accessing child porn on the Internet in 2003, expressed sympathy for Glitter during an interview with Mojo magazine.
He said: "It's hard, because as much as I abhor it, I can only as a human being think it must be awful for these people to be trapped in that head...
"I don't know what the answer is. I don't know if the way we treat it in this society is the right way to treat it.
"Can you imagine what it might be like? It's not a choice to them.
"There's a lot of gunfire, but not a lot of help. And let's be honest - that's what these people need - help."
Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, worked with The Who on their 1996 live Quadrophenia shows.
Daltrey was a staunch defender of Townshend when the guitarist was arrested as part of Operation Ore in 2003.
Townshend was cautioned and had his name placed on the sex offenders' register after admitting once using his credit card to access child pornography, but insisted he was only looking at the site while conducting "research" into child sex abuse.

They are a very good team....Jax sucks.....Pitt looked weaker than I thought today.....I would say absent any sigificant injury, it's Pats/Seattle....and Seattle ain't that good....
Hopefully, Boston will still show up Sunday night or JC will have to paper the house starting early Sunday................. |

Boston Stones shows are getting major play on tv/radio/papers.
Boston loves the Stones, they have many ties to the area dating back to '65.
They draw from all of New England.
You & son will have a great time.
We will hopefully be on a NFL high, from the Saturday evening matchup...We may even see some players there Sunday..

First reported by flagrant harbour, : Gary Glitter is not to be shot, at least not by an official Vietnamese firing squad.
Glitter may be charged with child molestation, but not rape, and the possible penalty will therefore be only 12 years (just enough time for a new generation of Glitter girlfriends to reach 'maturity') rather than death.
According to Glitter's lawyer, this decision was made "possibly" due to lack of evidence, leaving open the possibility that the trousering of spondoolies may have taken place behind the scenes (as predicted by your correspondent), though I wouldn't fancy trousering anything that GG had touched.
According to the police, however, they have decided to show "flexibility" because GG is a foreigner. This would not have anything to do with hard currency, of course; it's just good manners to let your guests shag your prepubescent children.
The actual decision whether to prosecute at all has not yet been taken, however. Who knows, maybe GG will, if enough "flexibility" changes hands, not be charged at all.
