It certainly did get a cinema release. In 1974. I vividly recall seeing the ad for it when going to see Towering Inferno!
It was in Quadrophonic i believe. I dont know alot about it, no doubt some geek here can fill you in, but i think its a combo of two shows. Great film that shamefully has not had a authorised dvd release. |

I believe it is a combination of these 2 shows:
Fort Worth, Texas June 24th, 1972
Houston, Texas June 25th, 1972
An excellent DVD and a great record of (IMO) one of there best periods |

It's taken from 4 shows,
Tarrant COunty Convention Center, Fort Worth, TX, 06/24/72 (2 shows)
Hoffeinz Pavillion, Houston, TX, 06/25/72 (2 shows)
2-5 songs from each of the 4 shows. |

What an event when it was released!
I recall it was almost as hard to get tickets as the '72 tour... |

No, it's a bootleg, but the quality is 9/10 for the Old Bastards version.
It was released on VHS in AUstralia in the mid 80s official release), I've heard, but it was withdrawn after a short while.
The quality was not good, untill it surfaced from a new source about 4 years ago.

i've got a decent version on dvd and an excellent audio boot...
the trick is to to try and watch the dvd by matching the sound and vision -
it'll lag at times but you get a real sense of how great they were when you can actually HEAR and SEE in stereo.
