I was just wondering why there wasn't much if any commentary about Mick's involvement with the Stones during the 25 x 5 special? I mean he was a big part of the Stones sound. |

I might have been too busy kicking his own ass for leaving them in the 1st place to do a sit-down interview. Either that, or he was using his royalties to pay people to kick his ass for leaving the band. Or, maybe cause he's a sweet guy, he got close friends to kick his ass for leaving the band and he wasnt available to sit down and say" "I am a fool. I admit it. What was i thinking? I coulda been a contender!!" |

They rarely acknowledge him....obviously very threatened by the fact that he was with them during their most creative years and greatest concert performances. |

JB: They rarely acknowledge him because he 1. was given the
chance of a lifetime and blew it. 2. quit 3. sued them.
4. quit before the start of a tour.
Have you ever seen MT solo? I have, underwhelming to say the least. MT fans (and I was a huge one till I saw him solo) never acknowledge what The Stones brought to him

I just judge him by the albums/performances during his short tenure....What was wrong with his solo concert? |

He was great with The Stones. His solo show just didn't have it. His guitar playing was very average for him, not
1 really good lead and his band was ok but nothing great.
His singing was really bad. Maybe he had an off night.
Zero showmanship and I know that isn't his forte' but still.
I felt bad as I brought a bunch of people praising him the whole time before . Lets just say I had to buy drinks that night |

He is obviously a very talented musician who has not made it easy for himself because of his poor choices and addiction problems..It's just that for me, as much as I am thrilled to see them still, the MT years continue to give me the most pleasure. I find the boots from that time period just classic and nothing has really come close since(maybe Handsome Girls). |

I couldn't agree with you more jb. MT's contributions are immensely downplayed by the band who were undoubtedly at their creative peak because of his fluid stylings and incredible interplay with Keith. It's a shame they don't give him more props but can you really blame them? He quit and they got the perfect replacement in Woody who IMO gave them a new lease on life upon joining the band. But the proof is in the pudding: Sticky Fingers, Exile On Main Street and those bitchin' boots from 69-73. |
