The stones really triumphed in montreal last night.
for many people there, it was the best show they ever saw.
the band was in a great mood and very, very energetic onstage.
exile was the album featured. what a treat! mick threw in a bit
of french and that really pleased the crowd. when he
presented the musicians, bobby keyes got a good round of applause
but nothin compared to ronnie, charlie and keith.
the crowd gave them a fantastic ovation, charlie was obviously moved
and the applause wouldn't stop for keith who finally told
the crowd: " we got a show to do ". the stones have been
in montreal for at least 4 days and the media coverage has
been unbelievable. the stones were everywhere and i think
that even those at the show that weren't hardcore fans sensed
they were witnessing something truly great.
highlights included can't you hear me knockin'. ronnie really
stole the show here with an amazing solo. probably their best
version of that song. when the whip comes down on the b-stage
left the crowd wondering where they take all that energy.
after a well received keith set with the majority of the
crowd standing even for slippin' away, start me up really
blew the roof. a real crowd pleaser.
after the show, everybody in the crowd was smiling and
those who thought the tickets were expensive realised
the experience is priceless. i had to go and get drunk
after the show with a friend of mine who had brought to
the show his two daughters aged seven and five!!!
great fuckin' start for the year!!!

jb Was the show technically sold out?
01-09-03 12:38 PM
MR D Yes, the show was sold out and it said in the paper this morning
that scalpers got around $500 for tickets and didn't have enough
tix to meet the demand. the stones had released a thousand tickets
one or two days before the show but that got sold in minutes.
