winter I became a fan of the Stones when I was about 10 years old - surprisingly, emotional rescue was the tune that got me hooked. After that, I bought some girls and hot rocks, and the rest is history - I now own every album that they have ever released, plus boots, outtakes, etc.

I was too young to see the Stones in '81, and for 8 years I thought I would never have chance to see them live. It is now 25 years later, and I have seen the Stones 19 times:

Steel Wheels - Miami
Voodoo Lounge - Philly, Foxboro
Bridges to Babylon - Foxboro, MSG (2X)
No Security - Boston (2X)
Licks - Fleet (2x), Gilette, Orpheum, Hartford, Giants Stadium, MSG (HBO), Astoria
Bigger Bang - Fenway (2X), Hartford

While many like to bitch about the set lists, ticket prices, fan club and everything else, or compare them to the "glory days" or inferior bands who can't hold a candle to the real thing, right now I just feel lucky that I have the opportunity to see them 2 more times this week in Boston.

Are the Stones as cool as they were in '71 or even '81? Absolutely not. But they are handsdown the world's greatest rock-n-roll band to ever grace this planet.

Appreciate it while you can, because nothing lasts forever.
