Chavez isn't such a bad sort. A bit mis-guided maybe. It doesn't seem like either major party in the US is going to field a decent candidate in 2006. Truth, Honesty, Love, Justice, Goodness, Mercy etc. are concepts that the politicians just don't understand. They like money, power, control, lucre, lust....shit like that....they understand.

Chavez' comments about my people were truly disgusting.....all these so-called leaders from the Middle-east to Chavez in South America always use our people for their countries woes...........truly sickening. |

Not unless it is your land, business and money he is stealing for himself. Perhaps Belafonte and all the dumbasses that defend this guy should find up want he is up to. I wonder how Belafonte would feel if it was his property and life's work being taken by Chavez?

There's the rub. Who's life's work is being taken away? The cartel capitalists (who hide behind an American flag)or the peasants who worked the land. The "American capitalist" has been bleeding those people dry for at least 50 or 60 years. When General Butler ran the Marine Corps back in the early part of this century he saw what was going on. People like Butler and Gandhi who have the ability to call a spade a spade are rare people indeed. Reality ain't fucking pretty.

You know MM. Whether you like it or not capitalism has helped improve litterally billions of people's lives. Not just the rich either. Capitalists are the same people that have donated more to humanitarian relief than any communist, despot,or socialist state has ever dreamed of. It's easy to cast dispersions on those evil "capitalist",but it's a strawman argument. Hey there is nothing in this world keeping you from becoming a very rich capitalist yourself! You live in a nation where it is easier to make fat cash than any other country in the world!
Try living in Venezuala after a decade of Chavez's communist rule. There is a very real reason that the USA is still the most sought after visa in the world. It's called opportunity, and that opportunity is only viable because we embrace capitalism, and through it we have helped the world immeasurably.
Communism is the most corrupt form of goverment ever. It looks great on paper, but once it's put into practice the human element quickly proves it's ultimate failures.
Chavez needs a bullet. Simple as that. For those here are defending him you are only showing that you know very little of the man or his whacked out ideas. He's a nut. Read up.

Not at all! I'm just stating the obvious. I don't think the bullet need be fired from an American gun.

Firstly I'm not a neo-con. I am a conservative, and have been for some time now. The guy has already threatened to start up an arms race within Central America. He has stated on the record that he would like to see the destruction of the USA.
Why would you embrace this guy? I call it as I see it. The guy is threatening my country! I'm not advocating asassination! I simply stated that a bullet would do this guy some good. It would. Preferably he will get taken down by his own people. Not by asassinnation per se. He just needs to go. He has stated that he would like to negotiate an arms deal with Iran for fuck's sake!
This is not about conservative vs liberal. This is about the preservation of my way of life, and my country's safety. It would appear that anyone who slams Bush is good with liberals regardless of how nuts they are. Weird to me.
Brainwashed? Far from it my friend. More like informed.

CM look here's the deal. In the last presidential election inside Venuzuela less than 25% of registered voters were counted. He won by over 70% of the vote! Shocker! This can all be looked up and verified should you choose to do that. This guy has gone on record saying that he would love to see the USA destroyed. This can also be backed up. He has stated his goal of arms deals with Iran,Cuba, and China. What part of this has anything to do with liberal vs conservative?!?
He is a dictator plain and simple! I will not coddle him. Or pretend that he means well. He does not mean my family,my nation,or my way of life well. Quite to the contrary.
Now please tell me why this thug gets a pass from you? Is it simply because he hates Bush? He firmly believes in the redistribution of wealth as does any socialist. He has done just that at the point of many guns. Yet you still defend him? I guess I'm just not enlightened enough to appreciate his good qualities. Perhaps that's because once I hear some madman declare his desire to see my country eliminated from the map I tend to stop listening.

WTF are you talking about jizzy? I am simply stating why I loath Chavez. In this particular case it has nothing to do with liberal vs conservative. At least not from my side of this issue.
Now I would happily engage in that argument, but this has nothing to do with that. Chavez is a dictator, and to pretend otherwise shows either an incredible lack of fact checking or an insane hatered of Bush. Simply because this guy Chavez hates Bush as well is no reason to support him. Now I know the old line-the enemy of my enemy is my friend-but,in this case that is just absurd.
You may hate Bush all you want. Go for it. No sweat to me,but if you are going to carry Chavez's water perhaps you should read what the guy thinks of your country.
Bottom line from my side of the argument is this. Chavez is a dictator, and Belafonte is an angry old has been. They make a perfect match.
