moy Super Bowl dancers with Rolling Stones can't be over 45Wednesday, January 4, 2006 Posted at 5:40 AM EST
Associated Press

Detroit — Mick Jagger and his band mates may be nearing senior citizenship, but Super Bowl planners only want people who are under 46 to take the field during the Rolling Stones' halftime show at Ford Field on Feb. 5.

The NFL is offering 2,000 people a chance to watch the Stones play during the game. They will be expected to dance, sing and cheer.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience the Super Bowl from a totally unique perspective,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told The Detroit News.

People are asked to apply in groups of 20 or more and be at least 18 years old and no older than 45. Signup is under way on the website of Star Flow Entertainment, the company organizing the volunteers.

The organizers says the reason for the age cutoff is that the job is physically challenging. Volunteers must enter and exit the field quickly and be on their feet for long periods. They will not have seats and will wait in a tunnel under the field for most of the first half.

Participants must be able to attend up to five rehearsals that could last up to seven hours each.

“You have to attend rehearsal and be able to stand for long stretches of time,” McCarthy told the Detroit Free Press. “And you have to run onto Ford Field with 2,000 other folks.”

I think all of the above criteria rules out about 95% of the Stones' target audience on the current tour

No....I think Cohl has little to do with creative process..I think actually Mick comes up witht he "performance" and Cohl handles the tickets and financial arrangements..Keith, evidently, has no input or doesn't care. To be all pissed about Sir Mick, yety play this 1/2 time shit break, is about as two-faced as one could be.............

Saint Sway I predicted that this would happen.

I said right on this site that the Stones Super Bowl Halftime Embarrassment Extravaganza would consist of them employing fake fill in dancers, holding signs and acting overly enthusiastic. Some even doing choreographed moves.

our only hope now is to pray that they back out due to some kind of injury or illness.

reminds me a bit of the dweebs running around the b-stage at the PPV show in 2003 with their "HBO" signs

as if we were expected to believe that you'd turn up at a Stones concert with something.

Toe-curlingly embarrassing

Better yet, let's wish they all die before the Superbowl! Surefire way to hike up their respectability! I myself can't wait till they are all dead, and our priorities are suddenly different.

Jumacfly All we need is 2000 Janet Jackson in the crowd!

We humiliated you and resent belichick embarrassing us witht he Flutie drop kick..this will nevr be forgvotten much likme the felon in the snow-plow game that cost us the play-offs. The Pats have no class...........I hope Jacksonville comes to play and injures Brady with a blind side hit to the lower back.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nellcote Pretty good JB that our 3rd string QB took your 1st string unit to 00 on the clock! Big fancy Jason Taylor almost lost the game with that fool roughing the passer call.
What was he thinking?
Flutie is god in our area, I high fived him @ Fenway at the B Stage!
The Jags are a formidible group.
We will be rested, ready for action.
Nothing better than January football @ "The Razor"

gimmekeef They do this stupid cheer section in front every year...You have to pass a very tough test first though before you get picked....You must dance and cheer all the way through SOL....So far no one has made it....

The pass interference call was a disgrace!!!!! We need Farve or Culpepper and we shall win the division next year!!!!!
January 4th, 2006 01:50 PM
Nellcote Farve was done two years ago.
Culpepper will be good for certain "boat" cruises.
You could end up defending him, what a prize?

Would the hookers have to be flown in from Atlanta or is the local product good enough?
January 4th, 2006 02:07 PM
Nellcote Culpepper has a roster of product developed in Minn currently, this could be negotiated as part of the deal.
He leads the list of "performers" on that cruise...

Daunte Culpepper: Indecent conduct, disorderly conduct, and lewd or lascivious conduct for allegedly getting a lap dance from a naked woman and putting his hands on her naked behind.

Just what Coach Saban will want in a QB, JB...

WTF...I do that all the time..that's good, clean, all-american fun............and legal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
January 4th, 2006 02:51 PM
highwire I'll be rooting for the Pats and the former Toronto Argo QB Flutie who won 6 league MVP's up here and 2 Grey Cups with the Argos.
Poor guy never should have had to play in the CFL. If the Bears and Pats offensive coordinators had any imagination back in the day, he shouldn't have had to waste his prime years in the great white north.
But wtf. He's the biggest star the CFL has ever had.

A little midget I can't stand.........he makes me puke...
January 4th, 2006 03:06 PM
Nellcote Was it a certain game in 1984 that troubles you JB?
I arrived in Miami that night, I asked the bellman
at the hotel, "How did you like that game tonight?"
He almost drove me thru the glass elevator of the Hyatt Regency Miami, poor guy had a stroke...
Come north in February, as his band is playing Mohegan Sun Casino, Wolf Den...
January 4th, 2006 03:10 PM
lotsajizz every right thinking football fan knows Flutie to be the midget from Hell...he ruined a good weekend if parties in my junior year!!

January 4th, 2006 03:12 PM
parmeda WTF is this shit?

Hubby & I have been toyin' around with the idea of a Detroit road trip...seriously...for two reasons.

First - If (and that's a HUGE if) the Bears make it to the Super Bowl

Secondly - STONES

...my God, I'd be in fucking heaven, no?

And for the record... "I would make it down on the field."
Oh, yes..."I" would.

But the way things are looking now, jb can plan on greeting me next year in Miami. I'm looking into package deals as I type...
January 4th, 2006 03:17 PM
glencar LOL Someone at work asked me how old I was. When I gave the answer, he told me I just made the cut-off mark to be a dancer on the field. This is the sort of publicity they DID NOT need. I blame that idiot Jake Cohl.
