Topic: What are the "must have" shows from the 2002-03 Tour? Return to archive Page: 1 2
12-28-03 08:52 PM
Jumping Jack Joe I've been doing a lot of trading lately and I'd like to know what you all consider to be the best shows from the 2002-03 tour. I don't need a copy of every single show but I'd like to get as many good shows as possible. What do you guys consider to be the best as far as sound quality and set lists?
12-28-03 09:45 PM
Gazza All of the club shows, naturally.

Best show of the tour though for me - Oakland 12.11.02
12-28-03 09:50 PM
glencar Hartford 2002. Got tix at the last minute & never regretted it.

Moonisup plus Vredenburg, Olympia, and Bercy (GREAT show, keith on fire during brown sugar, but the existing boot of that concert isn't that good!)

rik
12-30-03 08:39 AM
marko Bercy is killer show mate, but it doesn´t match in quality.
I will get another(better version) of vredenburg.
12-30-03 08:50 AM
Moonisup yeah you are right, from bercy there is 1 recording, hm a russian label, wich used my photos (the worst ones) for the artwork, I really hope someday there will come a better one. IF you listen to it really good, you'll hear it was a great show!
Marko, do you mean for Vredenburg the Ratlesnake releases?

rik
12-30-03 09:05 AM
marko yea,i think thats the one!
12-30-03 09:06 AM
Moonisup I'll get that one too in a few days!
12-30-03 10:21 AM
T&A I agree with Marko that the second SF show is the best-sounding, certainly of the stadium shows. Only minor drawback is the occasionally wind hit the microphones. Astoria is the best-sounding of the club shows and I'd have to go with Cleveland as the best overall (sound and performance) of the arena shows. The new Sister Morphine version of Wiltern is also well-worth seeking out...
12-30-03 10:41 AM
Jumacfly they remastered the us club shows?? i got the early versions and it sounds very muddy...wiltern was a good show!
12-30-03 02:32 PM
Boomy Any show where AC/DC is the opener. And just get the ones that have AC/DC on them.

YES!
12-30-03 02:37 PM
midnightmagic Oklahoma city
Cleveland
12-30-03 02:52 PM
Gazza I make that about 44 different shows mentioned at some point in this thread so far, which is almost 40% of the entire tour.....

I think Joe was kinda hopin' for the field to be a bit more narrowed down than that!
12-30-03 03:07 PM
VoodooChileInWOnderl Best club show: Astoria 2003
Best Arena show: MSG 2002
Best stadium show: Twickenham 2003 (what a great show it was, glad it made it on 4 Flicks)
12-30-03 03:36 PM
glencar Let's narrow it down then, shall we? Any show where they did both "Bitch" & "Mannish Boy" is a must-have.
12-30-03 03:40 PM
Joey

Denver " P-Center " STONES GIG : 02/01/03 .

Many rate this one as the greatest concert performance EVER given by ANY band in the history of this young orb ( According to the Wall Street Journal / Time - CNN / AOL / Reuters ......you get the picture ) .

Jacky !

glencar "Denver " P-Center " STONES GIG : 02/01/03"

Here I thought you were just being goofy Joey & I checked out the setlist & Holy Crap! It's a good one. No "Bitch" but "Dead Flowers" will do in a pinch.

Gazza >Let's narrow it down then, shall we? Any show where they did both "Bitch" & "Mannish Boy" is a must-have.

You can tell I'm bored shitless because I just looked up to see how often those two appeared on the same show and it only happened five times.

Fort Lauderdale 22/10, San Antonio 23/11 and Las Vegas 30/11/02
Glasgow 1/9 and London 15/9.03.

Oddly enough,I was at two of those shows and I think you were at the Vegas one..?

Only Ft Lauderdale and San Antonio havent been listed as "essentials" already so add to that Joey's Denver show (a good choice IMO) and thats the list up to 47.

While I'm at it, throw in these five as well as theyre still not "circulating"

Mumbai
Singapore (both shows)
Las vegas (the corporate gig in Nov. 2002)
Copenhagen (although I'm sure it IS out there...)

52 so far. By the time this threads over we may have all 117
