Soul Survivor Anyone hear heard the band Jet? Their single is "Are You Gonna Be My Girl". They sound like a mix between AC/DC and the Stones. So thats always good. I would recomend picking up their album "Get Born".

fmk438j They supported the stones in Aus this year of course.

Here some pics from a show they did in Melbourne between stones' shows. The clip of Take it or Leave It
(their first single, before the album came out) includes footage from this show, and the one they did in Sydney the day after enmore, in Sydney a week earlier.

Moonisup I've read an article about them and they where very nasty towards the stones.

Steel Wheels The nastier the better - just like the Stones...who blow those kids away.

magicwoman yes i've heard about them they'r music is great
12-28-03 03:54 PM
fmk438j I've only heard them lay praise on the stones. I'd b interested to see this article where they bag them.

Soul Survivor if you listen to them, you can hear stones influence very clearly

corgi37 I too would be interested to see the article about JET bagging the Stones as well. I read that they were over the moon, incredulous, exhalted and 100% fucking surprised that they got the Oz support gig. Especially considering most of Oz's top rock bands begged for the support slot. There is no way they could say they are not Stones fans, as they are obviously influenced. Maybe a little TOO Stones for me, but hey, beats P.Diddy.

glencar Good music but the lead singer is a bit flat.

Yeah, we wouldn't want that to happen. I know when people talk bad about me, Mick n' Keef always stick up for me and say "Hey f#&ker! Don't say that about my boy, Bryan!"

I think that if ANYONE says ANYTHING bad (even if someone says that they don't like a certain song from the Stones), they should be ostracized and ignored by this society.

Are you with me? Yeah!

Scot Rocks Jet Rock!!!!!!!!

and they do like the Stones, u can see the influence in their music clearly

Steel Wheels This sort of shit has been happening since Punk.

I invite any one of these kids to write a riff better than Keef's Brown Sugar, beat a drum better than Charlie on Miss You, or since and dance better than Mick on Saint of Me.

Prodigal Son Well geez we know that cannot be bettered, SW. But don't disparage a group for trying to follow in their footsteps. It's like saying in the mid-60s, "Oh the Stones can play the hell out of 'Bye Bye Johnnie' but can they really duck walk, pick or sing like Chuck? No, so screw them!" Just a tad ignorant.

agree.

though i don't really like the band Jet. i've seen better bands playing at house parties. isn't their single just "Lust For Life" with different vocals?
01-02-04 11:03 AM
glencar Everything's relative. If Jet was around in the 70s, they'd be unheard of. But they're around during the teen pop era & so they've gotten some play. They're nothing exciting but they're something to latch onto for those bored with hip hop & Justin.

Jen D They've got a song getting airplay on Virgin that sounds like a Paul McCartney Blackbird style rewrite of Sexie Sadie as a break up song. - pinches the "you made a fool out of everyone" line.
