Quick but important question here, I live near Albany, NY and I dont have enough money to stay overnight after the JAn. 18th show at MSG the last train from NYC for Albany leaves at 1150 Is there any danger of missing this? Does anyone have a list or know of a website with times that each concert has ended? And is anyone else taking Amtrak home after 1/18?? |

IMO, the NY show will end between 11:20-11:30 PM.
(Stones would get on around 9 and the show would be 2- 2 1/2
hours)
But, nothing is set in stone.

as the show is being broadcast on TV, check your TV schedules for the start time. If theres ONE night on the tour where you can bet they'll be on at the time they're supposed to be on stage, it'll be this one.
However, being a PPV..the show (going by previous history) will probably be a bit longer than normal as they may throw in a few surprises, special guests etc. Arena shows on this tour have usually been around 120-130 minutes.
at least as MSG is in the same complex as Penn Station, you dont have too far to dash!! |

Do you think the train might wait for the concert to end ? |

well...I've travelled by Amtrak from Penn Station to Hartford in 1999 and the 10 o'clock train was 20 mins late - went back to NY a few days later from Albany and I think it was pretty much on time...thats my only experience of Amtrak,so living 3,000 miles east of New York I'm not one to advise you on how punctual or otherwise their trains are...I'm sure theres New Yorkers who would be better placed to do that!
would they hold the train? I doubt it..theres major events on at MSG and all over Manhattan practically every night of the week..cant imagine a Stones concert would make any difference
Are there no buses? Some kind soul here should be able to offer you a settee or somethin'! or even a ride home if theyre coming from the same area as you! Hope you get lucky!
failing that, make sure you beat the rush by at least being out of your row/seat by the time they're on the last song (probably "Jumpin Jack Flash") if its not already about 11.25 - then run like fuck before everyone else does when the show ends. make sure you know the layout of the arena and your route back to the right platform when youre leaving to avoid wasting time...I think you should be OK. I cant see you missing it if you're leaving by 11.30 at the latest

According to the TV Guide listing, the show is listed as 135 minutes. Starts at 9:00 and ends at 11:15. You'll have no problem making your train, and FYI, they wouldn't hold a train for an event at MSG. I've missed many a train after major events in NYC.
By the way, other airings of the show are also listed:
Tuesday, 21 8:00 PM HBO2
Thursday, 23 9:00 PM HBO
