I dont think Sony or anyone else is manufacturing portable DAT anymore. Which sucks, no idea what the next gen is but I don't care much for the thought of hard drive recording.

Anyway my deck cost around $750 from the now out of business Terrapin and the mics were $625 from www.sonicstudios.com

gimmekeef Dan,yes the DAT has been discontinued...So the mics are just important obviously in price to get the sound....That makes sense....thanks again...

That's exactly what I was saying. I uploaded Dan's recording on DAD. The question was if the audio was taken from the dvd, and it was not, it is a new source. Sorry for any confusion.

Apparently, this is the next generation, seemingly designed for audience recording: http://aes.harmony-central.com/119AES/Content/Sony/PR/PCM-D1.html

I thought I was done in 2002 then I scored a Wiltern ticket. Concerts are more expensive than they are worth nowadays. I prefer staying home and watching the DVDs which is why I only went to 25 shows this year compared to over 60 in 2004.

did you get the torrent thing figured out so that you can listen to the Houston show?

If not, mail me if you need it. Its the best show of the tour, in my opinion.
