Greetings..
Just wanted to express a bit of contempt towards this
contest being promoted in the U.S. As an avid fan of Stones,
I find it insulting to be restricted a ballot or eligibility
because of citizenship.
Secondly, I find it appalling, that after all, the tour
company/mgmt/director is CANADIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And
what about Rhode Island and FLA?
Is there someone out there in the know about these things?
Can someone please enlighten me as to why a free contest is
only offered in 48 states? Obviously the Stones are more
than happy to take money from the other two states in ticket
sales and record sales, and obviously are inclined to take
money from citizens globally, so why can they not reward
their customers the same equal privelage as the 48 states???
Furthermore, what is all this bruhaha about the Stones offering
installment plan tickets to people in Bosnia-HG? If ANYTHING
at all, they should be playing that show for FREE!!!!!!
Anyways, please, someone get back to me on this before the
entry deadline expires!!! (or, if anyone is able to front me
an American address in one of the qualifying 48 states would
be of equal value! ;-) )

RI and FL are excluded because of those states particular laws involving lottery type give-aways.
I would imagine similar situations are involved with foriegn countries.
What it boils down to Ian, is that in a "free" give-away, the govts. involved are not getting paid for a piece of that free ticket...ergo they exclude their citizens.

Yeah, but.. as a Canadian, are you not perturbed about this
"raffle" as much as I am!?? I mean, c'mon brother!!! This is
totally wrong, irrational and corruptive!! This is
discrimination in it's finest form!! It'd be like a contest
occurring, that only black people need apply! or men only!!
Do you know how much stink this wuold cause!?!? So why can't
there be some kind of similar logic applied to this situation?
I honestly feel like writing a letter of complaint to the
management, or some kind of international human rights board,
b/c, it just seems ethically and morally WRONG to exclude
certain States and nations!!
And if any Rolling Stones employee is reading this, you
fuckers should smarten the fuck up! What are you fucking
thinking assholes!?!? If it weren't for us fans, you fucking
monkies would be out on the street begging and busking for
spare change!! Wake up mothafuckas!!! Don't bite the hand
that feeds you and don't kick a gift horse in the mouth!!!

Calm down man.
The Stones have nothing to do with the ticket give-away. It's that treehugger group that is doing the ticket lottery.
If you want to be upset, be upset at the restrictive govt rules regarding out of state lotteries.
There's nothing to be done about it. The law is the law, and the treehuggers gotta follow it.
Yeah it sucks, but you anger, while righteous, is misplaced.
It's amazing how much crap you can get for doing a free show. |

Ian, what they should have done is offer an installment plan to Canadians who had the shirts ripped off their backs to travel to the US because they only played 3 Cdn dates.
Ie. my $90(US) ticket cost $178 (Cdn). Not to mention travel and accomodation.
Actually, this would benefit more comforting my wife than my wallet..lol. |
