Sioux The 60's...especially '64-'69, in the U.S.A. anyway, were
the most amazing years I think this world has ever seen. I
am so glad that I lived through them, and that I was old
enough to really have them make an impact on me. I've often
thought that if someone offered to shave 10 or 20 years off
my current age, if I would give up the experience of having lived
through the 60's, I would have to turn them down. Sure, I
guess it would be wonderful to be 30 again. But to give up
having lived in the 60's? Naw, not worth it. And, unlike
a lot of people who claim to not remember much {too drugged
out, or whatever}, I remember every single second of that
decade. And boy, am I glad that I do!

That must have been so awful having Anita there for the recording of Beggars Banquet.

Yes, I imagine that was quite painful for Brian... Very
uncomfortable...
7th December 2007 12:38 AM
GhostofBrianJones It is hard to say whether he was really hurt with Anita
being there. By that time her and Keith were deeply into
heroin really bad. The other band members had already
noticed changes in their behavior according to several books
I have read. He put his arm around Marianne Faithfull during
those recording when they were all together. Those recordings
were in 1968 a good year or so after they broke up so maybe
he was starting to move on. I am glad she went to Keith,
they were more compatible anyway.

Missing Stones guitar was given to dentist

Steven Morris and Simon Trump
Thursday December 6, 2007
The Guardian

The mystery of what happened to one of the legendary instruments of rock music, Brian Jones's first electric guitar, appears to have finally been solved: it was given to a dentist to cover a bill.
Jones, who died aged 27 in 1969, used the Harmony Stratotone on the first Rolling Stones hit, Come On, and is also said to have taught Keith Richards on it.
The guitar vanished in the early 1960s and remained missing until earlier this year when the family of a dentist called Basil "Tug" Wilson, who used to practise in Ealing, west London, said he had been given the instrument by one of the Stones' entourage. Bought for Ģ30 in 1959 by the Stones' original manager, Dick Hattrell, the guitar is now thought to be worth Ģ250,000 and is being loaned to a new museum dedicated to Jones at the Wheatsheaf pub near Cheltenham, where the rock star first took to the stage.
Hattrell said: "Brian was brilliant on the acoustic guitar, but what he really wanted was an electric guitar. I knew he needed to further his career so I offered to buy him a guitar. Brian almost snapped my arm off and he knew exactly what he wanted." Jones's girlfriend, Pat Andrews, remembers "seeing Brian sat on our tatty sofa with Keith cross-legged at his feet. He was teaching Keith how to play because he only knew three chords back then."
The Stones entourage member who gave the guitar to the dentist was accountant Eric Easton. Basil Wilson's son, Robert, said Easton used to visit the surgery. "They became friends and one day he turned up with this guitar. He assured us it was Brian's and it followed another gift of a drum kit. The Harmony has remained in the family ever since, and me and my three brothers all learned to play on it too."

zooeyglass Thanks for posting this, Steve!
I'm not surprised, it seems Brian had ongoing teeth problems --

But you didn't post the header on the main page:

Under my gums: The mystery of what happened to Brian Jones's first electric guitar is solved

I would have gone with "No Extractions" myself

BriansBabe Thanks Steve ...I would love to have this guitar

7th December 2007 06:48 PM
BriansBabe Great WEEKEND to everyone...

7th December 2007 07:34 PM
Sioux Thanks for posting that, Steve... What I wouldn't give
just to HOLD that guitar...what an incredible piece of
musical history...
7th December 2007 07:49 PM
GhostofBrianJones Okay ladies you can have Brian's guitar, I want the owner!!
And you can play with the guitar all you want. Hee! Hee!
7th December 2007 11:36 PM
Sioux Ha ha Linda, you'll have to fight me for him! I think we
would have made beautiful music together... We could have
been blonde twins....
8th December 2007 12:30 AM
BriansBabe ...heeeeeeeey, I want Brian for me ...no chance with my dark hair?????? Hmmmmm?????

for the red and blonde haired Ladys:

...you both can have the left one, lol ...the sugar sweetie on the right is mine ...

GhostofBrianJones That guy on the left was their Financial Manager. He has his
own website. I can't think of his name right now. He seemed
to get his fugly mug in many of the pics of Brian. As you
can see Brian is extremely angry that the ugly piece of
crap has the nerve to perch on his chaise lounge when he is
trying to relax and get some sun!! Only someone with no
regards for other people's space and everything else would
do the stupid stuff that man did. I think that was taken in
California where some wild stuff went on. Will talk about
that on the LARS board.

I am gonna grab my HOT looking guitarist and run off with
him (if I could that is). I have very long bright red hair
and blondes look good next to me! Hee Hee Hee!

LOVE TO S&K!!
8th December 2007 10:10 AM
BriansBabe Yes, Linda, I think always the same every time when I see this pic, the expression on Brians face is so funny...as if he thought "move your fat ass away"...lol

Iīm sure, our sweet Brian would be more pleased, to have us sitting next to him ...kissing him constantly ...

Sioux My oldest daughter has red hair... It's a darker red, though--not auburn, but not bright either. And my other
daughter is blonde like I am. I'm sure that Brian would
be pleased to have ALL of us kissing on him... And loving
and supporting him too.
8th December 2007 01:37 PM

Sioux When Brian looks at me, whether in a picture or in a video,
my heart just stops beating. I mean, he just looks right
deep down into your heart and soul, don't you think? I
love that...
8th December 2007 07:44 PM
BriansBabe Oh yes, this feeling has never left me, since I was a little girl and saw the first photo of him...

8th December 2007 08:05 PM
GhostofBrianJones That last photo with the striped shirt on, is he holding
a Ding Dong? For those who don't know it is a chocolate
cake dessert that are like twinkies sorta.

Ladies and Gents, if you go to YouTube for any Stones
videos, please be sure to Download them for yourself
because they are watching what is uploaded as per ABKCO
per the other thread on this subject by Voodoo. I have
tried to download as many as I can. Check often to see
if any might be sneaking back on. You never know.

LOVE TO S&K!!

Hi and thanks guys!!
8th December 2007 08:57 PM
BriansBabe Lol, "ding dong" is a funny name for a chocolate
cake dessert...Iīve no idea what to the hell that thing should be, but if itīs chocolate I think the next thing our sweet Brian was in need to do was wash his hands

Thanks dear Linda, for the info about YouTube!!!
