...as she returned to the hospital, my dad opened his eyes...

...and I guess that's the day your love for Brian began!!!!

Sioux Thanks everyone.... It was breast cancer and it was in
2001. I had surgery, chemo, radiation, and took medicine
for 5 years. And all of my long blonde hair fell out...
I must say, that was terrible. I wore a wig, but it's just
not the same as having your own hair. I get checked
regularly and I'll be having an MRI on Jan. 9th. I do so
hope that shows everything is clear....

I have never smoked, eat a fairly good diet, only weigh
99 lbs or so, get moderate exercise....I DO have a bit of
a history of breast cancer in the family, but that accounts
for only 8-12% of all breast cancers. So, if it can happen
to me, it can happen to anyone. Make sure to become
familiar with your bodies, ladies, so that you notice any
changes. I don't want any of you to have to go through
what I did!!
27th December 2007 07:43 PM
Sioux Yes, a "looker" means someone who is really good looking.
That's our Brian!

Thanks so much Steve, Lisa {welcome back!}, Alex, Sophia..
these are breathtaking pix!!!!
27th December 2007 08:04 PM
BriansBabe ...I will take you in my prayers until 1.9th., dear Sioux!!!
Everything will be O.K.!!!!

And, thank you, for your reminder, to check our body!!!
Love and comfort, Alex

keithrichardsgirl Thank you for clearing everything up Sioux. I figured that was a common term that was universal. Guess not. LOL. What an intro...

Anyways...

Nice to meet you all. My name name is Bree. (Scarlett's just a chosen nickname. I'm 17, live in LA and am a Brian fan for the fact that he was a "looker" and started one of the greatest, if not the greatest Rock'n'Roll/Blues groups of all time: THE ROLLING STONES.

But I have to say... Keith is more my kind of fella. Don't really know why, just always found him attractive. Still do.

So... HI!!!! lol...
27th December 2007 09:30 PM
BriansBabe ...yes Bree, that could be a common term in America...but english is not my native language, I´m from Germany and I think I always try my best here!!!

Well, and, yes I understand HI...so, HI to you!!!

Thank you, dear Alex! Prayer is what got me through the

too... I am very thankful for modern medicine--and for

Bridget} when I was about 14....

So wonderful to have you join us here! And so COOL to have
young people like you discovering the Stones and becoming

zooeyglass Sioux, my grandma died from breast cancer back in the 1960s -- she unfortunately did not seek treatment in time.
I'm so glad to hear you've been cancer-free for so long!
Your spirit is strong, I just know you'll have a clean bill of health come January

These lines from James Joyce always make me think of Brian.
After reading your post, they made me think of you...

Lean out of the window,
Golden-hair,
I hear you singing
A merry air.

My book was closed;
I read no more,
Watching the fire dance
On the floor.

I have left my book,
I have left my room
For I heard you singing
Through the gloom,

Singing and singing
A merry air,
Lean out of the window,
Golden-hair.
