Thanks Soldatti...67,000+ records sold in a week in December 2005. And that's just the US and that's just those three records.
Not bad for England's Newest Hitmakers. |

It's amazing how well JUMP BACK is selling. There was virtually no promotion for it. Even when you see it in stores, the cover and title don't grab you. |

Indeed, Jump Back has a horrible package & yet I've received it twice as a gift. |

The Jump Back numbers intrigue me as well. I did notice that in the "Best Buy" store in northern Cincinnati, Ohio, they had Jump Back displayed up front near the cash registers. Big time stocking stuffer I guess. |

The sales of Jump Back make no sense as its basically disc 2 of 40 Licks minus a couple of songs.
Baffling. I suppose if anything its actually encouraged the Stones and Virgin to keep recycling old hits, and the current setlists are probably an admission that they're 'stuck' with many of those songs whether they like it or not |

Wait until refunds from disgruntled gift receivers bring the numbers of ABB and Rarities down...I saw two people in line at Best Buy wanting to return it on Monday. (they probably headed for the "U's" after the refund was completed. |

Baffling.
I believe the secret to Jump Back's success is in it's price tag. It's always priced under ten dollars here in the U.S. It's a greatest hit collection that's real cheap. To some, that's a hard deal to resist. They feel they're getting a bargain. |

imo jump back is a great album for non stones fans,
as it has all the 'real' hits
40 licks is already something for the "sort of fans",
as especiall disc 1 requires a specific taste.
i don't know how many times i saved a party
by digging up Jump back from someones (shit)record
collection and playing it very loud.
Well, i always though i saved it anyway...

Egon, in the US, most of Licks CD 1 is well-known here. CD 2 is weighed down by those new songs of which "Don't Stop" is the only good one. |

Count me amazed by Jump Back. It was available in pretty much every record store since 1993. Let alone it came shortly after 40 Licks. |

Only since last year in the USA unless you spent the big $ to get the Euro import version. |

I got more numbers of the Stones catalog on the last chart:
Forty Licks (12,400 copies / 2.603,000 so far)
Hot Rocks (4,600)
Sticky Fingers (3,900)
Exile (3,100)
Let It Bleed (2,400)

Flashpoint still sells? It's surprising that the worst covers are still doing well after all this time. |
