December 27th, 2005 10:57 PM

Martha...I think Turner likes to make more of it then it was...if anything, Stones allowed them to open at MSG when their career was already on the down swing. I dislike Turner as she lives abroad and should not opine about our way of life...she was talented, no doubt, probably a great lay about 40 yrs ago, and sufferd terribly at the hands of Ike,,but the Stones tend to give credit to african-americans whereas african americans (see Jesse jackson) have attacked the Stones..........

She didn't make this ceremonial tape the Kennedy Center is honoring her. They put in the Stones footage and talked all about Mick.

Why the hell weren't you taping it for me!?! That's all I need to know answers to.

You are 100% wrong about Tina. I saw the Ike & Tina Revue as one of the opening acts for the Stones in 1969 (more than two weeks before MSG). If you ever saw footage of Mick before and after that tour, you can definitely see Tina's influence on Mick's stage presence. In addition, Proud Mary came out before the '69 tour started, so you can't say with any legitimacy that their career was in a downturn at the time of the tour. It's also nice to see that you don't have a rascist bone in your body.

Martha Racism is a very deep and complex subject and it is past our bedtimes. Hate is racism and racism is hate. That is the short and long of it.

Now let's be nice.

Did anyone tape Tina?

peace,
Martha

jb, I sincerely hope you keep a daily diary (besides what you post here) so you may write "tell all" book on your life. You are getting older and soon could strike a deal with a publisher. Do you have hooker ticket stubs or whatever they give you as a receipt? I certainly hope you keep those trinkets. It will add to the appeal of your book. Photos seem to help those sorts of book sell.

Larry King is doing a retrospective on Ricky Nelson's death 20 years ago today. It's on right now.

Oh my, Glenn Campbell is there and he has lost half of his hair. It's GONE.

Dylan was just mentioned.

I despise Larry King....he has James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, and Pat Robertson on all the time and nevber challenges their warped views.............I really dislike him ..he is ashamed, imo, of beinga jew, but uses all the smalty stchick when it's in his best interst..what a putz..........
December 28th, 2005 12:59 AM
Martha Did you know Jerry Lewis once owned the plane that Ricky Nelson went down in?

Larry King is my second favorite interviewer. Charlie Rose is my fav.

King is a kiss ass butt licker imo....Rose was excellent but not anymore. I'll stick wit Mike Wallace, Dan Rather, and Ted Koppel anyday.....Fox News has taken over the country.WE dems are pathetic, weak, and not focused..we shall neber win back congress or the presidency until we get real leadership....Bush has fucked the world, yet his #'s are going up..our country is in a very sad state..........53% republican, 47% dem or independent...we lose .

Those people with the most money will win as long as money has the power it has. It must be taken out of the political process altogether. Sorry I am not a capitalist or a socialist or....hell I am working on it....this stupid system is doomed to failure as it is not sustainable. We are all fucked in my opinion.

I've never once seen FOX news.

Larry King is respectful of his guests. He does not grandstand and act like a bully (2-year old) nor does he have to be the focus. He let's his guests speak for themselves and they dig their own grave (or not) accordingly....and I like his style. He behaves more mature than a lot of the interviewers in the mainstream media.

Charlie Rose interviews so many diverse, interesting people.....I learn more from his shows than any other regular (daily I mean) source of info that I watch on the telly.

I want to learn. Arguing bores me to death and teaches me sick behaviors.

There is much more to life than win or lose. Indeed!

jb The days of civility are long gone...that's why they(the righties) are killing us..they fight with the tenacity of those Japanese who were hiding in underground tunnels in the pacific 10 yrs after WW2 ended..they never let up and lie until it is widely excepted.........they are ruthless, cruesl, and hateful ..........but they are WINNERS!!!
December 29th, 2005 12:29 PM
Martha The irony of the win-lose deal....is that no one really wins no matter what it may look like at any given moment. The game never ends......it is relentless, heartless and depends on deceit, manipulation, corruption and ill-will (just to mention a few of the behaviors needed to play).

Win-lose is a deadly game.....and I refuse to play it anymore.

Word!

jb, I pay no attention to these people in my opinion they say empty meaningless redundant crap and it bores me to tears. I've never once seen FOX news nor do I plan to ever watch it. And I do not know Alan Colmes at all.

I am not to put my energies on the problem....I need to learn how to be a part of the solution (which takes a lot of work and effort). I don't learn anything helpful from people stuck in and promoting the problem except how NOT to behave.
:-)

I have so much stress in my personal life that I cannot afford to boil my blood over all this insanity and immaturity. Place your focus elsewhere is my suggestion.

My health has been suffering from stress.....stress kills. And I have to learn to get out from under it before it kills me.

Do you have DISH or that insufferable cable TV? DISH has so much alternative programming and watching those channels helps me stay out of the trash heap that is mainstream corporatized TV.

I now spend my time watching/listening to people from all over the world, who lecture and teach about subjects of all kinds. I am expanding my thinking as a result.

This is a much better option for me than listening to continuous garbage and bile. I do not need to hear one more word to know all they do is lie for a means to their end. Win?....that's a laugh.

It'll be the end alright. They cannot have a vision of the future or they would be more frightened and horrified than we are.

Fuck Yup!

Ten Thousand Motels FOX doesn't bother me too much. I do know when I'm being bullshitted though. For good or ill they've tied their credibilty to the GWB administration.
