The Christmas chart of this week has good news: "Forty Licks" sold strong last week with 18,000 copies according to Soundscan.
"Hot Rocks" is also #199 on the Billboard Top Pop Catalog with sales of 5,000 copies.
"Four Flicks" is still #1 on the Billboard Comprehensive Music Videos. I don't have the sales of last week but were over 10,000 copies.
Here is the question: Why "Four Flicks" not was also edited as live CD?. The albums are selling more than the DVD's, just look the numbers...
Here are the charts positions for the week ending Jan. 3, 2004:
The Billboard 200 - Forty Licks - #160 (45 wks on chart)
Billboard Comprehensive Music Albums - Forty Licks - #183
Billboard Top Pop Catalog - Hot Rocks - #199
Billboard Comprehensive Music Videos - Four Flicks - #1 (6 wks on chart)
Hot 100 Singles Sales - Sympathy For The Devil - #49 (14 wks on chart)
Hot Dance Music / Club Play - Sympathy For The Devil - #43 (8 wks on chart)

I guess all of the bad press for the Stones/best buy wasn't so bad since 4 Flicks is still #1? |

In fact, I guess all the brouhaha about that exclusive deal was good publicity for FF! One might even accuse the Stones of wanting to get an uproar in order that their last release didn't go unnoticed. It's a mean old world... And music business is as tough as it gets. |

I can't believe that Hot Rocks still sells with 40 Licks on the market. 40 Licks supplants Hot Rocks IMO. |
