Santa brought me a new toy -- a MacBook. I'm intrigued by the Garage Band program. Anyone here use this? ... I understand I need an audio interface to record guitar. What's a good, reasonably priced one? |

I have a iMac G4 Flat 22" Panel Desktop. The Garage Band comes
in various ways depending on you wish to use it. Mine
has been updated and I can compose songs, or even play
along with another recorded song. When I first got it in
2004, it had the Panther OS X in it, now I have the Tiger
OS X in mine. I also have the Leopard but need more memory
before I can install it. I know it has a Garage Band in it
and it should be the best you can get without actually
buying a Pro System if I remember right. It all depends on
how you are going to use it.
Check out VersionTracker for free and shared downloads
and see what it has for Garage Band. Linda

Got one response so far:
Yo.
He should look into M-Audio stuff:
www.m-audio.com
Good cheap interfaces USB-powered, easy to use. You can pass my phone number on as well, always glad to help a Mac user in need.
And tell him to buy my book - there's a whole chapter on GarageBand:

M-Audio has a good interface...several different one...the cheapest one, I think, is fast track which just plugs in your USB port |

another response:
My brother's a sound engineer and he recommends Edirol or Motu, they are a little higher end and Motu is more expensive. He cannot think of any cheap ones.
Take care,
Bob

My apologies for misunderstanding your question. I did not
give the answer you wanted and it seems there are Mac users
here who are more familiar with the technical side of them
than I am. I hope you find what you are looking for. |
