Stray Cat UK I saw someone trying to flog a part - show dvd on ebay a couple of weeks after the show, but nothing else.

A big missing piece. Last outdoor show ?

AND of the 26/27 shows I've attended, the only one I don't have some sort of recording of.

80,000 people - somebody must have it and I'm sure it will surface one day.

I only recently got great quality audio and DVD of my 1st Dylan show, from 1984 !

Nothing on any torrent trackers, but I'd be amazed if the show wasnt circulating in audio format at least.

What show was that? Newcastle? That was my first Dylan show too (I was also at Slane three days later)

the video and audio were in circulation pretty soon after.

Stray Cat UK Yes, Newcastle . I only ever had a hissy tape of that show. Only had a handful of Dylan vinyl boots prior to these torrent sites.

I wasn't a big Dylan fan at the time, but went with a friend who was, mainly because Mick Taylor was playing in the band. A great show.

Comcast interrupts file-sharing in tests
PETER SVENSSON
Associated Press
Comcast Corp. actively interferes with attempts by some of its high-speed Internet subscribers to share files online, a move that runs counter to the tradition of treating all types of Net traffic equally.
The interference, which The Associated Press confirmed through nationwide tests, is the most drastic example yet of data discrimination by a U.S. Internet service provider. It involves company computers masquerading as those of its users.

If widely applied by other ISPs, the technology Comcast is using would be a crippling blow to the BitTorrent, eDonkey and Gnutella file-sharing networks. While these are mainly known as sources of copyright music, software and movies, BitTorrent in particular is emerging as a legitimate tool for quickly disseminating legal content.

The principle of equal treatment of traffic, called "Net neutrality" by proponents, is not enshrined in law but is supported by some regulations. Most of the debate around the issue has centered on tentative plans, now postponed, by large Internet carriers to offer preferential treatment of traffic from certain content providers for a fee.

Comcast's interference, on the other hand, appears to be an aggressive way of managing its network to keep file-sharing traffic from swallowing too much bandwidth and affecting the Internet speeds of other subscribers.

Comcast, the nation's largest cable TV operator and No. 2 Internet provider, would not specifically address the practice, but spokesman Charlie Douglas confirmed that it uses sophisticated methods to keep Net connections running smoothly.

"Comcast does not block access to any applications, including BitTorrent," he said.

Douglas would not specify what the company means by "access" -- Comcast subscribers can download BitTorrent files without hindrance. Only uploads of complete files are blocked or delayed by the company, as indicated by AP tests.

But with "peer-to-peer" technology, users exchange files with each other, and one person's upload is another's download. That means Comcast's blocking of certain uploads has repercussions in the global network of file sharers.

Comcast's technology kicks in, though not consistently, when one BitTorrent user attempts to share a complete file with another user.

Each PC gets a message invisible to the user that looks like it comes from the other computer, telling it to stop communicating. But neither message originated from the other computer -- it comes from Comcast. If it were a telephone conversation, it would be like the operator breaking into the conversation, telling each talker in the voice of the other: "Sorry, I have to hang up. Good bye."

Matthew Elvey, a Comcast subscriber in the San Francisco area who has noticed BitTorrent uploads being stifled, acknowledged that the company has the right to manage its network, but disapproves of the method, saying it appears to be deceptive.

"There's the wrong way of going about that and the right way," said Elvey, who is a computer consultant.

Rolling stones - Terrifying dvd

I got a dvd recorder over a year ago and finally got around to transferring some of my vhs tapes.......here is the first one. This was taped by me from the fox broadcast in 1990, Most of it comes from the atlantic city ppv show and 2 or 3 of the songs are in 3D if you still have the glasses ( i believe they were free at the time). Since i am quite the novice at transferring video to dvd this is very basic it has no menu and i left all the comercials in.If anyone wants to grab it and do some editing be my guest. One last thing since i didn't have a hi fi vcr when i recorded this 17 years ago the audio is in a glorious MONO.......

FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES

ROCK 'N' ROLL LONNIE MACK
By JON PARELES
Published: July 14, 1985
A SET of first-class roadhouse rock turned into a celebrity event when the Rolling Stones guitarists Keith Richard and Ron Wood joined Lonnie Mack on Thursday at the Lone Star Cafe, 61 Fifth Avenue.

Mr. Mack has been making records for more than two decades; much of his set was drawn from his new album, ''Strike Like Lightning.''

And 22 years after he had a top 10 hit with an instrumental version of Chuck Berry's ''Memphis,'' Mr. Mack's high, wailing guitar solos are still clear and to the point.

Although Mr. Mack can play every finger-twisting blues guitar lick, he doesn't show off; for most songs, he comes up with sustained melodies and uses fast licks only at an emotional peak. Mr. Mack is also a thoroughly convincing singer, whether his lyrics are boasting or hurting.

When the two Rolling Stones joined Mr. Mack, it was a rare chance to hear a jam session without idle display. Mr. Richard showed his distinctive sawed-off phrases and terse, bent chords, as Mr. Wood added slide-guitar descants. Celebrity didn't matter; the blues did.

I found this, that could help you..

Comcast users read this!!!

Many Comcast customers may have noticed problems when uploading torrents. Comcast denies they are limiting or stopping torrent traffic, however many Comcast customers including myself cannot seed torrents. A solution was suggested to change the dns server from the Comcast default. If you go to www.opendns.com, you can read up on how to change the dns server default to opendns. It is a free service and may help you with torrent seeding.

waterdr My cable company was just bought by Comcast and I have been trying to get a couple of downloads and it appears that I am blocked. Message comes up stating that the torrent will close because it cannot connect to the tracker while not connected to any peers. When I look at the torrent details, there are plenty of seeders.

lineage source 2: tapes of unknown gen. / Philips DCC 730 / Terratec Aureon 5.1 / Adobe / DartPro / Adobe / flac

quality: very good for source 1 / good for source 2

as midnrambler already wrote the silvers don't have trackmarks so I had to edit the whole thing. further You Can't Always
Get What You Want fades in the middle, Little Red Rooster is missing and Can't Be Seen fades in after 13 seconds.
That's why I added the missing parts from source 2 but still a fragment of Rooster is missing anyway.

You Can't Alway Get What You Want is the last song on disc 1 on the silver, now it's the first song on disc 2. The artwork
isn't affected as it offers a "playlist" only (without mentioning that Rooster is missing).

All in all one of the better recordings from 1989 - hope you enjoy
