What a welcome blast from the past, as well as a titillating read. |

Thank you. Indeed it is. There is a goldmine in there.
I'm reading archives as a break while wrapping Christmas presents.
This is another good one:

Joey " You are so wrong on politics but so right on EVERY THING ELSE! How? How?? How??? "
I am part of a long , lost and restless generation Blue . Christmas .......................What's that mean to YOU Blue ?!?! To me , it's the living Hell of Pleiku , Kontum and the muddy rice paddies of the Mekong Delta as I was forced to wade neck deep in the muck whilst bullets whizzed by me ears and there I am holding my rifle up above my head ( not to mention having to deal with the " squirts " at the same time ) ....................****************************************** MEN IN WHITE LAB COATS HAVE NOW ENTERED THE ROOM AND ARE IN THE PROCESS OF REMOVING YOUNG JACKY FROM HIS DESK , TURNING OFF HIS COMPUTER AND ESCORTING HIM BACK TO HIS ROOM FOR THE NIGHTLY ROUNDS OF " ELECTRO-SHOCK THERAPY " *****************************************************

Still getting ready for tomorrow, while taking a brake, I found this:
December 7th, 2005 06:48 PM
kath i will remember him....
as far as that interview is concerned, remember it was 1970 and he was drunk and bitter and kind of a nut job.
December 7th, 2005 06:53 PM
Water Dragon I think John would have liked this one: (though I can IMAGINE how some of you fellow nutters will respond)
One of the best prayers.......
Heavenly Deity, Help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single parent who worked nine hours that day and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few Precious moments with her children.
Help us to remember that the pierced, tattooed, disinterested young man who can't make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprehension over final exams with his fear
of not getting his Student loans for next semester.
Remind us, Goddess, that the scary looking bum, begging for money in the same spot every day (who really ought to get a job!) is a slave to addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares.
Help us to remember that the old couple walking annoyingly slow through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year that they go shopping together.
Gods and Goddesses, remind us each day that, of all the gifts you have given us, the greatest gift is love. It is not enough to share that love with those we hold dear. Open our hearts not to just those who are close to us, but to all humanity. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and love.

Is this a post you found in the Rocks Off archives?
If so, I believe this marks the beginning of the decline.
However, I enjoyed reading the first link you posted. |
