A very interesting (Dutch) book. Not a real biography but an essay explaining why Jagger is so succesful as a businessman. After reading this book my esteem for Mick has grown. Without him the Stones would have faded away in the seventies because none of the other members was interested in the commercial part of running a worldfamous band. The writer makes clear that without a solid financial basis you can't run a supergroup. So without Mick we probably wouldn't be on this board

Gazza this is true, but at the same time without Mick many of us also wouldnt be broke!

Whilst I'm glad they're still around, my level of gratitude doesnt extend THAT far!

Some middle ground would be nice..!

blackandblue Dat staat in een notendop in mijn eerste bijdrage aan deze thread. Interessant zijn b.v de verschillen tussen de verschillende platenmaatschappijen in de jaren 60. En het inzicht welk zakelijk instinct nodig is om een supergroep te runnen. De (zakelijke) innovaties van Jagger, enzovoort enzovoort. Of was dit voor jou allemaal gesneden koek?
