What can i say...where do you start.....no musical act has stayed this important for this many years. I remember when they aunnounced the 40 licks tour, it was all over the news. No band can just come out and say "were touring" and have that appear on CNN. My only regret is that i'm not older.....i wish that i was in my youth when the stones were making their best work, like "LIB", "banqet", "exhile", "sticky", etc. Oh well, I'm grateful to at least be able to see them live these days, even if they aren't in their prime, they're still the best act around. i hope theyre around when i have kids so i can take them to a stones show. Until then, lets just enjoy the sweet sounds of the greatest rock n roll band on earth, happy holidays to everyone! |

It seems that "rediscovering" a word that some posters don't like. Personally I like it. I bought my first Stones record many years ago (almost 40) not that it means much, but I think I've rediscovered them a number of times. One case in point as an example is when I came back from Portugal. I lived and worked with English people there for about 5 years. I learned somewhat about English humor. After coming back and listening to Stones records/lyrics that I had heard many times, I began to laugh. I finally got the joke! Wow! Also I had another rediscovery of sorts when I first went online...I didn't know as much about the Stones as I thought I did. But seriously any piece of art can be "rediscovered" every day if the antennas are working.

Too much. We got 30 inches the first storm, about 18 the second..far too early...and very unusual for this time of year. Luckily we had rain after. Well the skiiers are happy as are all those "white Christmas" sentimentalists LOL. |

I get what you mean. Like, when you haven't listened to one Stones album for a long time...play it...remember how good it is...and think "why in the hell haven't I played this album for so long?" |

Yeah... that's kinda it. And if your antenna's are working right you'll probably "hear" something you've never heard before. I know that on another thread they were poking fun a bit at Keith's "sky" art theory. But it really makes sense....and just as solid as any art theory I've ever heard. And he wasn't the first one to come up with that art theory either, it probably predates him by 6000 years + in one form or another.
