Is it just my imagination or is there a lot of "Keith hostility" floating around? I think is art theory his right on.
Oh forgot a "h".

It's like the Mick hostility from a few years back. It'll pass like last night's beer farts... |

That's not an intelligible sentence. |

Sorry. It's a comment on a a different thread....the Keith touches the sky thread. A little bit of a disagreement with a couple of posters, posters whose opinions I have great respect for btw, even if they ARE wrong on this one. LOL. |

Please reread your comment. It makes no sense grammatically. |

I did. I corrected the "h". Lol. Besides your comment about Keith being uncool makes no sense philosophically. As Keith defines Kool by definition. Therefore he CANNOT be uncool. That would be a square circle...of which none can possibly exist...at least in a rational universe. (The universe Is rational, isn't it?)

1. keith is the definition of "cool"
2. now i'm cluing in to what people told me about "some people" on message boards. i got it clearly now.
3. actually, keith is not "cool" right now, he's basking in the sun while many of us are..... |
|
glencar |
It's best to ignore this type of poster. |

You gotta a better one? I'm all ears.

Morons have overrun this board. |

I can honestly say that I have feelings of both love and hate for the man. But I will always love the music, nothing will ever change that. |
|
SHINE A LIGHT |
yep, i have learned a great deal from someone at stonesplace (in the entourage)......these message boards CAN be terrific, as this one usually is. however, beware if the others!!!!!! |

Too often, Keith has heard that "he is the definition of cool." Or the human riff, or the incarnation of rock and roll, or whatever. Unfortunately, he is beginning to believe that all we want is to hear him hit an open G on a butterscotch Tele. Not true.
I believe Keith has given up and is just coasting. I believe he should become more introspective, and bury himself in his room with his acoustic guitar and write the greatest Stones album ever made.

Agree with the statement he is "coasting" and I think he attacked Mick to the point where many of us were disgusted with his juvenille behavior compounded by his mediocre playing this past tour... |
|
glencar |
I don't think he ever coasted. He was cited by the NY Times as being the best thing in the band at the HBO show. Stop bashing, Joshy. This is the season of peace. |
|
jb |
Stop bashing..lol..."Those men are now living respectable lives.." |
|
glencar |
There was an outbreak of bashing this weekend. Nasty stuff. |
|
KeithRichards210 |
People still expect a 60 year old man to play with the energy of a 25 year old man...
He's not coasting. He just no longer has overdrive, that's all. |
|
glencar |
He certainly had overdrive at the start of the tour. And although I find you a bit nasty towards ShinyLight, you do a good job of defending against the bashers. |
|
Pattie |
There are 4 members in the band (excluding Chuck!)
We don't have to love all of them do we? |
|

AT MY CHANUKAH PARTY SATURDAY NIGHT I PLAYED 4 FLICKS FOR MY UNCLE JOSH(we share the same name)...HE LIKED IT BUT SAID HE COULD TELL THEY SLOWED DOWN CONSIDERABLY ...I THEN PLAYED HIM THE L&G BOOTLEG AND HE SAID WHAT A DIFFERENCE. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY ARE A SHELL OF THEIR FORMER SELVES BUT STILL QUITE ENTERTAINING....THE DEPARTURE OF MICK TAYLOR WAS THE MOST TRAGIC EVENT TO EVER HAPPEN...

No but there does seem to be a pattern of bashing these guys every few months. And when one sees a poster who comes onto the board to bash & only bash, one gets suspicious. |
|
glencar |
I'm getting L&G shortly. I'll let you & Mr. Namesake know what I think. |
|
jb |
Get it!!! This is why us long time fans cringe when we hear the current version...they were so tight at this time...Keith was a rhythm monster and Mick T played so brillaintly it is hard to imagine how great they could have remained if Mick and Keith did not force Mick T out of the band. |
|
glencar |
I know someone who insists 1981 is their highpoint. I think they've been getting better with each tour. But I will await the evidence & then cast a decision. |
|
jb |
1981..lmfao!!! They were still the "stones" but the decline had already started.... |
|
glencar |
There are good & bad points these days. The back-up singers are good for some songs (Gimme Shelter) and hurt others (TD). The piano-playing Chuck doesn't bother me as much as most others here but he's no Mac. The horns are good but overwhelm some songs. The song selection is much, much better. Those old tours would see the same set list day in, day out. Ronnie is no MT but MT is no MT these days, Joshy. I've seen him & he's quite boring. If he didn't have a hot blues singer up on stage, I'd have fallen asleep. By "hot" I mean singing style, not sexually. |
|
SHINE A LIGHT |
ok, some here do not like the stones/some members of the band. WHY are you nice folks on a rolling stones' site....they're terrible!! perhaps you should go to a site for a band which you do admire/love.

I like the people here and I have no other place to go. |
|
glencar |
The people here are the best. Still miss Steelie, of course. I saw he had another One Hit today. |
